Trading Places

Journal entry in Morocco 6/26/2025

I am grateful to be alive today. I am grateful for all of the abundance in my life right now. I am grateful for the abundance that is always flowing towards me. I am grateful to be a mom and to have a beautiful healthy daughter.

Today was a great day to be alive and I am glad that I got to experience all that I did. First I woke up with my daughter giving her lots of hugs and kisses. Then I made her breakfast and I drank tea. We spent time outside playing restaurant and enjoying the sunshine on our skin. I worked online and had a few calls to break up the work flow a bit. All of the calls were positive and helpful for everyone. In the evening I took a break and went for a walk outside to the park. Emma made new friends, played with bubbles and even got a new bracelet. The people here are so kind and generous, always willing to give and share their abundance with their community.

Journal entry in New Jersey 11/27/2025

Today is a day to celebrate gratitude. There is so much to be thankful for right now in my life and everywhere. I am grateful for my life and safety as many are fighting for theirs globally. Thanksgiving is not about the past, it is about appreciating what we have now to allow more abundance for the future. Although this holiday is very controversial, there is still value in a time to be with family and be grateful for each other, but we don't need a Hallmark overconsumption holiday to do that. This should be a reminder that we can and should be grateful for our life and our loved ones each day. Being home has made me realize how important it is to be close to family and people you love. Travel is important as well, but we experience holidays in a new way and learn new ones while skipping others. We learn that time is our most valuable asset and we should use it wisely to learn and grow as much as we can.

I am grateful. I am blessed. I am abundant.

After one year abroad there have been many lessons learned and every experience is a chance to grow. We thought we would find our new forever home, but realized that home is where the heart is and we will always be home as long as we are together as a family. We are grateful that we had the opportunity to live somewhere new again and to immerse ourselves in different cultures, but we are also grateful to have loving family back home. There is a balance to everything in life, we all need a little adventure while also enjoying the comforts of homeyness.
