Middle Ground

There are so many topics and beliefs that are seen as 2 sided, when in reality there is always a grey area.
Especially now, we find ourselves having to choose between 2 things very often.
When it comes to cultural differences, it is hard to create them so opposite and concrete when they are all so complex and varying.
For example, the terms collectivism and individualism have been used to describe cultures that differ in a broad way to explain their relationship and dynamic internationally.
However, there are often many people in both cultures that fall into both boxes or maybe find balance with these ideologies.
To be one of something limits our perspective. When we can see both sides clearly, we can have sympathy and compassion for everyone.
Whether it is regarding our differences or similarities, we can agree that creating peace and meeting in the middle is the best for all.
If we are always worrying and taking care of others, if they are not taking care of us in return, who will?
If we are always taking care of ourselves and not taking care of others, who will help us when we are in need?
But if we all take care of ourselves and each other, we all win.
Instead of choosing between two hard decisions in life, just choose both.
Want chocolate and vanilla? Get a twist!
Want the best of both worlds? Just be Hannah Montana!
Want community and self love? Join a self love community!
Okay seriously though, if you look at things with an open-mind and try not to attach to your beliefs as strongly, you can realize that there is usually middle ground that is safe to relax, accept everyone’s opinions and listen to consider why they think that way.
Just like a see saw, the sides with the seat are always going up and down and rarely find themselves balanced in the middle. We can choose to stay in the seats or we can just sit in the middle of the see saw that stays safe and watches all of the ups and downs for fun and without anger or fear.
We can move past what we think and believe to see that we are all the same and all deserve love and respect equally.
Take it or leave it, just let go of being right and having the last word. Peace and happiness are always more important than debates and anger. We can all share how we feel without needing to make others feel less than because they have lived a different life than you.
