Slow Down & Get Grounded

ree

When life feels too loud, your nervous system is often the one sounding the alarm. There are so many stimulations that can make us become easily overwhelmed and feel like it is often hard to move forward. Instead of allowing the chaos to grow bigger inside you, slow down and remember that you have the ability to heal yourself and become aware of your emotional well-being.

Some great ways to start are by creating a grounding ritual that soothes from the inside out: begin with deep belly breaths (inhale for 4, exhale for 6), then sip a calming tea like chamomile, lemon balm, or lavender. Place one hand on your heart and the other on your stomach—this simple touch signals safety.

You can also try a warm bath with Epsom salts or a short nature walk, barefoot if possible. Being outside in nature is our ultimate quick trick to feeling better, just a breath of fresh air can change everything.

Another creative way to soothe is through sound therapy such as a hum, chant, or a soothing playlist that makes you feel held. We all react differently to our senses and lean towards some more than others, so trust what works for you and know that it may vary for each person.

Lastly, you can keep a “calm kit” nearby with grounding stones, scent rollers, or a feel-good book. As you learn what works for you, this kit can adapt as needed and you will discover more about your own healing journey.

Nervous system care is self-love at its most primal. Always remember that you are worthy of love and respect, which starts with how you treat yourself.

You are love & light, shine bright as you are, a star 💫
