What is Globalization?

In college I took a class called Global Inequalities which broke down the term Globalization to its core. The process of our world today has evolved quickly and with many ups and downs.
Whether we like it or not, this is our reality. We live in an ever-connected world with an abundance of knowledge and power at our fingertips.
Technology and innovation have brought us many great qualities in life. They have allowed us to spend less time doing chores and survival mode, and more doing what we love with who we love.
Our common issue is the will power. The choice to be able to use the technology for purpose and with intention, instead of aimlessly scrolling and neglecting the people you love by not giving them your undivided attention. The fact that corporations have the choice to do better and instead choose greed goes to show, they lack will power and morals.
We have probably all been guilty of using our phone, computer, or some type of technology too much and without restrictions. Until we become aware, we can then make the choice to create boundaries and find a healthy balance that works for our lifestyle.
The benefits of technology are rooted in our desire for connection, growth and life. Yes, the technology we have now in medical centers are life saving and we would not be here today without it all, or at least it would look a lot different.
Do you feel like you need to take a break sometimes? Then do it. I started to encourage myself to use my phone less on Sundays and on the weekends in general. Even when I’m working I can use it less because it is a huge distraction and I don’t need to use it when I’m with my daughter as much either.
Finding balance is key. Doing what works for you is what will bring you results and resist the urge to go further down the rabbit hole. Sometimes change is hard at first, but over time the little bit of pain will eventually become strength to overcome bad habits and grow your will power to say no and choose energy that lifts you up.
