What is the Journal Journey?

When I was young, maybe around elementary school, I had a journal that I would write in at the end of the day. I also loved buying planners and writing all of my “busy” plans down. Writing has always been a happy place for me and definitely helps me express my feelings in a healthy way.
As I got older, I wrote in my journal less and used my planners mostly for school. Life changed a little bit and I didn’t always prioritize writing as a self care practice.
While in college, I made lots of lists about my classes and internship, kept my journals in my notes or sometimes on paper and used my phone calendar most often.
I found a new balance for writing and technology that focused on practicality and completing goals. However, I wasn’t fully aware of my daily habits and lifestyle until I began writing it down every day.
After college I started to journal more and wrote down all of my goals and big dreams or projects. This is when I discovered the bullet journal and what worked best for me.

I soon realized how powerful my word was and how journaling really improved my life. Using my journal daily helped me stay more organized and aware of my goals and taking action towards them. I also practiced journaling in a way to heal and release my old beliefs to form new ones.
I created my own template that worked for me and showed promising results. Each day I use my journal I remember why I am writing and how it has shaped me today. The design and aspects have evolved over time, but the mission and vision remain the same.
This is the story of my journal journey. Our journal is like our personal biography of our life. My journals have taken me to places I would have never expected and open doors unimaginable. I am grateful for all of the necessary hard change, the unruly challenges and the chance to grow a community of self care.
